3. Notes

  • Five bosses, one wipe. Everyone give themselves a pat on the back.
  • Moonburn vs Patchwerk four months ago "From recollection, we were pushing over 11K DPS for the entire raid." Moonburn vs Patchwerk last night: "I almost hit 6k dps".
  • Great work by Atlassia and Lolz stepping in to tank Monday night.
  • Two nice pugs. Steebo was remarkably cheerful about dying a lot, and Stubblush suggested tanking Ignis in the water, which made the encounter a lot more straighforward
  • Some nice gear upgrades for Boo and Swoon

      Awesome run last night, I really enjoyed it.

      Great job by the healers, especially Swoon who was healing encounters above his gear level.

    For posterity, Stubblush's tactic for Ignis was to tank him in the north pool, facing towards the wall.

    This had the following benefits:

    • The scorch was extinguished by the pool, so no-one took damage from it.
    • No need to kite him around or move him at all.
    • No-one took falling damage because they landed in the water.
    • People coming out of the crotch pot didn't land on the scorch.
    • It was easier to see what was going on, in particular the adds spawning.

    This also had the following disadvantages:

    • The adds couldn't be melted, and hence couldn't be destroyed.
    • Lolz had a tricky job gathering up all the adds and keeping them entertained until the end of the fight.

    I suspect it wouldn't have worked if we hadn't had uber offtanking, heals and DPS; it turned it into a DPS race.
