Run Summary
Our goal tonight was to complete Trial of the Crusader, but unfortunately we didn't even get back to the point we reached last week.

We wiped a number of times (three?) on this fight before finally beating it. The biggest issue was Icehowl's charge, with him hitting raid members and enraging a fair few times. We also hit a hard enrage timer on one attempt.
Lord Jaraxxus
An easier fight, we completed this on the first attempt.
Faction Champs
We attempted this once and gave up after we wiped. Although the DPS were focussing on the tree, it was being healed for more than we were DPSing it for, leading to a very long fight with no progress being made. One by one, they picked us off, until we were all dead and the enemy mobs were still at full health.
Notes
- Not enough DPS. Moar dots.
- Not enough class variety, especially being heavy on melee DPS.
- Carl's feedback (from the run planning page comments):
The good: * Three-healing works * The tanking was great. * We one-shotted Jaraxxus The bad: * Insufficient DPS. Three of the dps were in the low 2ks. Longer fights mean more scope for error. We also couldn't burn down the druid in faction champs but that was due to more than just dps * Not enough class variety. All but one of the DPS were melee (slower to switch to snobolds, all within range of a single poison splash) and another couple of classes could have brought more buffs * Still a lot of standing in the fire, especially people with the fire AOE debuff in Acidmaw/Dreadscale running through the raid * We rushed into faction champs because we were losing people, without making sure anyone was interrupting the priest, etc. * Between the time taken to start and the early finish, we only really got one hour of raiding Between 1 and 2, I think if we'd had a different pug healer and had Zaph bring his mage we'd have had a very different night (provided Zaph didn't stand in the fire bombs :) ). Something minor: * When there's one boss and two tanks (Gormok, Icehowl) it'd be nice if the tanks still said on vent when they were swapping aggro. Makes it easier to know who to beacon/shield/etc. - Video of the Jaraxxus fight:

A suggestion because you asked for suggestions

I agree with Andrew, we can swap roles in this fight if you want, Warriors are more mobile (three charges FTW) which might make it easier. Could be a nice change at least.
I'll make sure to clear vent before we start an encounter. I'll be more clear about who is talking and who isn't during the encounter. If we find pugs not following these guidelines I'll mute them during encounter.
In some cases this is because we are diverging from the generally accepted strategy. Usually all melee will stay on Jaraxxus to interrupt the Fell Fireball. We weren't doing that so we should explain it clearer before the fight. I think the case you point out wasn't helped by Gonel speaking on vent about what to do.
In other cases it was people not listening or couldn't hear (am I loud enough?). I expect at least all the ANB members to be comfortable with our strategy for each of these fights and if not speak up before the encounter to say so. Unfortunately the case I'm thinking of involves a person that I don't think reads the web site much!

Boorunn (richard)
Hey guys,
Thanks for last nights runs. It was great fun and challenging .I was unable to hear a lot of the instructions for the last 15 minutes as my wife came home and was talking to me the whole time. I could not tell you verbally or type. I knew i could play till around 10, but she got home early and i still wanted to help out the raid.
Sorry for not peforming up to scratch and listening to the helpful instructions at the end.
thursday is not me WOW night and was lucky to be on as long as i was.
Maybe i will just type WA WA WA (wife agro) which means i cant talk and cant listen well.
Somehow playing WOW and wearing headphones means..... honey, please tell me all about your day.
Thanks again guys, I really enjoy our runs together

Rewatching it, I think my new favourite quote is "Get away from me, you pansy!"
