With Cataclysm looming somewhere nearish on the horizon, and our beloved Azeroth (Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor at least) under the threat/promise of suffering some massive upheaval, I was wondering what zones you love to play. Where did you have the most fun way back in the day? What area gives you the terrain/mobs/quests that you enjoy enough to hike a lowbie alt over the river and through the woods (or just all the way from Exodar) to run again?
*Inspired by a rainy afternoon reading through WoW forums and wondering how guildies would answer.

Stranglethorn Vale! So many good quests and excitement in one zone, and much easier to navigate once they added the Alliance flight point at the northern end.

Ahh.. memories of being ganked and corpse-camped in STV on a PvP server. Good times... Good times...
I always thought that Winterspring was a beautiful zone, although it's rarely visited anymore. Mechanical yeti ftw!
(ooh, I just noticed that there is a yeti pet that you can get in Winterspring. Win!)

Darkshore. I hated that zone so much, but it has a special place in my heart.
When I first started playing the game (with Miknight, incidentally) as a holy priest, this was the first zone after the starting one. I spent what felt like an eternity in this zone, mainly soloing everything (which was very tedious in holy spec, but I didn't know any better). I probably wasted hours running up and down it.
I called Auberdine home for a very long time. I was surprised at how sad I was when I saw what's going to happen to the area in Cataclysm.
