Woulda, gouda, shoulda, ... Well nobody said Sindragosa was going to be a brie-ze. We were a little blue after 9 unsuccessful tries at Sindy last night. Things got off to a bad start when lolz wiped the group on trash, then pulled aggro on Sindy and be-camembert to survive. It turned into a bit of a demolition derby after that as Sindy creamed us.
We did get to phase 3 pretty consistently though, which is awesome since this is not an easy fight. Well done all, particularly the people new to the fight this week.
A final thanks to pally power/power auras, without which none of our attempts would have been possible.
P.S. Wensleydale is a delicious cheese.

> Tanks swap as often as possible: i.e. whenever one tank manages to drop Mystic Buffet, it's their turn to tank. (For all I know this is what you were doing already)
Yep, with the caveat that once or twice the ice tomb wasn't up for the full 7 seconds and my stacks didn't drop off immediately, I had to wait for the next tomb.

Also, as a memo to myself, I need to pay more attention to who is tanking in P3. I'm sure you guys were announcing it over Vent, but I was too busy worrying about everything else that was going on to swap Beacon/Sacred Shield to the right tank.

I think you guys are over-analyzing. Everything went well. We just need to get the rythm down for phase 3.
Looking at the logs, we were dying from the frost aura. This is the same debuff that is going on the entire fight but amplified by mystic buffet in phase 3.

Ryan I think that might be the key with burning them down too fast. While being tombed you are being damaged but not so bad that the tombs can stay up longer. Somehow have to keep dps on the boss and this is one way of doing that while removing the debuff. 3 healer will ensure we have a heals free in the small chance the 2 are tombed.
I think we keep the same 2 tombing spots and whoever is tombed just pick one. The next tomb go to other free tomb spot not occupied.

I think that's the gist of what we've been saying. Having a strategy for who's doing what, when in phase 3 == "getting the rhythm down".

Any other suggestions though for strat? I think after 8 failures, where everyone did quite well in phase 1 and 2, to get the boss down to 18-24% consistently means we were consistent and in rhythm but it didn't produce. Just looking for ideas on tweaks and improvements to the strat. Frost Aura is the number 1 damage dealer against non tanks (around 50% for most of us, a couple at 70-80), except for Lolz where it came in 2nd at 38%, but then again Chilled to the bone is 42% for him. Maybe he's doing something better like getting behind some ice.

"Percentage of damage" is a little misleading. Frost Aura is ticking constantly on everyone whenever Sindy is on the ground (the only way to avoid it is to actually be inside an ice block) so the numbers are going to be out of proportion to its actual impact.
The one thing we could do to improve more than anything else is GET AWAY FASTER AFTER ICY GRIP. Thanks to the 30% zone buff you can survive Blistering Cold in phase 1 so long as you're near 100% health when it hits, and so long as so many people aren't hit that the Frost Aura finishes you off before the healers can get around to bringing you back up. Once you get a few stacks of Mystic Buffet though, Blistering Cold will one-shot you.
Probably a third of our wipes came down to this. We'd lose 2-3 people to the first Blistering Cold bomb in P3, then the fight mechanics would quickly overwhelm the rest of the raid.
Beyond that, the idea of dividing people between the front-leg and rear-leg ice blocks means:
I'd also suggest that anyone who gets ice-blocked after there's <1min to enrage gets to stay entombed, as we'd lose more DPS than we'd gain in freeing them. But that's a strategy for when we're making it to <1min with 10 living raid-members.

Congrats on getting to Phase 3! Sindra is definitely challenging .. especially when you hit the final phase and everyone gets that burst of Adrenaline .. but everyone needs to stay disciplined.
Just to recap the differences in Phase 3.
Mystic Buffet stacks multiplies ALL magical damage - ie. Frost Aura / Chilled to the Bone / Instability - meaning stacks that you were comfortable with in Phases 1/2 need to be controlled a lot more carefully.
By not being close to the enrage timer, means you have more time to drop your stacks and minimise Raid Damage.
Ideally, everyone should be grouped up behind one block after it's dropped. This means that provided everyone moved to the block AFTER it's been dropped in time, no one should be at the next Frost Tomb drop location.
This has a two-fold advantage 1) The next Frost Tomb can be dropped safely; 2) Everyone is dropping their stacks. If someone hasn't dropped their stacks, then make it a priority to get to the next ice tomb AFTER it's dropped so that you're the first there. It gets too hard on the healers if people are not reliably dropping their stacks.
My concern if you alternate DPS on a frost tomb is that if one of the allocated DPS gets tombed, that's already one dps down in bringing that tomb down
2nd, if a healer is tombed, you don't have as many ppl bringing down the tomb ASAP.
3rd - it means that the people that didn't drop their stacks MUST drop their stacks next tomb .. and if they miss it ... they are taking even more damage if they continue to dps.
and that includes if Blistering Cold is then cast ... if you haven't dropped your stacks .. you'll take even more dmg.
4th - alternating dps means that the person is likely to be in the frost tomb drop location since they'll be standing there and dpsing rather than moving to the next frost tomb.
Tank swap should be clearly expressed over vent, and at this time, only 1 person can bring down the frost tomb (rest of raid hide behind it .. but still dps the boss, and then when the tank calls that his/her stack is dropped, then EVERYONE destroys the tomb. If healer gets tombed -> Everyone break it instantly.
The raid has to also control their Instability buffs / Chilled to the Bone and drop these at good times.
eg. running to behind an iceblock / running out from Blistering Cold
From personal experience as a Melee DPS.
If the next frost tomb is about to drop, and i need to drop my chilled to the bone, I would run to the back
so that i'm still behind the frost block location, but not near it ... and when it drops, all i have to do is run forwards ...
ie ... the extra time where i am hopefully LoS means mystical buffet will 100% drop off as opposed to me running from where i am dpsing sindra, to around to the back of the iceblock and then start dpsing .. my time LoS from Sindra is only when i finally get behind the block as opposed to if i started at the back.
But that positioning is ONLY if I need to drop stacks of my debuffs.
If you have enough dps to bring the frost tombs down + some to dps the boss, then 3 heals gives that buffer
if not, then maybe 2 heals... but people have to be stricter on their debuffs and maybe not left it go as high.
If all else fails,
The Tanks get craft some Frost Resistance Gear + Lesser Flask of Resistance as the majority of dmg the tank takes is Frost.
