Sindragosa Attempt 2

Based on feedback of our first attempt, what worked well and what didn't here is a strategy that we could try next week.

Phase 1:

  • Green - Tank, Blue - Sindy, Purple - DPS/HEALS
  • Turning sindy on her side like this should get the raid closer to the stairs, we can then try the stair as the location for the frost tombs.
  • We can be a little more relaxed when it comes to the Instability debuff and let it get to 5 stacks before we let it expire. This will allow for some more casting of heals and dps.
  • Melee (and hunters and tanks) need to be much more careful with the Chilled to the Bone debuff as it did way too much damage (See: http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-d8kqcdm4bzt7d9n1/spell/70106/).

Phase 2:

  • Purple - Non-frozen raid, Skull/Cross - Tombs
  • Putting the tombs on the stairs makes it easier to LOS the bombs as the will be generally on the otherside from your starting spot.
  • We need to be better at getting LOS from the bomb locations, hopefully using the stairs will help with this. The tombs go down reasonably fast but so do we if we are in the wrong spot. First Priority is to get LOS, then DPS. (See: http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-d8kqcdm4bzt7d9n1/spell/70106/)
  • We need to get better at being at range from the tombs so we only get the two tombs up each time. This is more of an organisational problem than an individual one and the new location is meant to help with this.

Phase 3:

  • Same positioning (mostly) with phase one, Green - Tank, Blue - Sindy, Purple - DPS/HEALS, Black - Tomb locations
    • Purple - a,c raid expending debuf, b raid neutral position
    • Black - 1 tomb location 1, 2 tomb location 2
  • During this phase its very important that all DPS/Heals group up tightly so the tomb can be placed without swallowing anyone else up. GULP.
  • When a Tomb comes up:
    1. Place it at the unoccupied tomb location, alternating between 1 and 2
    2. DPS will always move to the purple position to remove their stacks. Once they have dropped and the tomb is down they can move back to the neutral position before DPS again on the boss. Healers will alternate dropping their stacks, the other healer(s) will stay in the neutral position.
    3. Normally the Tomb will be DPS'd as soon as all DPS have dropped their stack, the only exception to this rule is if the current tank wants to drop their stacks. If this happens DPS will stay in the a or c position and wait for the tank to move, drop their stack and then will dps the tomb down.

Power Aura setup for casters

I figured I'd put up the power auras I use for this encounter.

It consists of three auras, first, Unchained Magic. This aura has a countdown so I can see how many seconds are left on the main buff:

Second, the actual Instability stacks. This is placed on top of the active UM aura, so I can see when I'm gaining stacks, and how many:

and together:

And finally for phase 3, the Mystic Buffet, with both stacks and countdown. I'm not too sure how useful the countdown is, so I'll have to play around with it a bit:

Power Auras.txt

As a dps caster, I found it invaluable to know just when Unchained Magic would fall off, so I could stack Instability until 2 seconds out or so, then Disperse to mitigate the full damage.
