Further discussion
With more people joining the guild (Hi Torti!) and more people hitting 80 (Hi Dee!), it's getting harder to justify limiting the Monday team to twelve people, especially if Monday is the only team that's going to tackle progression bosses. As far as I see it we have a few choices to make:
- Do we open up the Monday roster and just live with sitting out one week in three?
- If we open up Monday, do people who can't make Thursday get preferential seating?
- Do we get rid of the distinction between days, so Thursday is just as likely to be doing progression content as Monday and tough if that's the day you can't show up?
- What does that mean if we can't reliably get a full guild run on Thursdays?

Should we consider upgrading Monday nights to a 25 slot raid? How many slots would we have to fill with PuGs?

But then we will lose our 10-man strict ranking! Um, that didn't come out quite right...

Some of us are reasonably pug-averse. Certainly while I'm happy to go on someone else's 25-man PUG, I'd hate to have to run one myself. I really like the camaraderie of our guild runs and the fact we can wipe ten times on Putricide in one night, get no loot but still feel like we've had a good time and not have to call the run because someone left our "fail group".
We've had overall good experiences pugging the last few slots in our 10-mans when we come up short (Zaph, Torti, Cally, etc) but having most likely half the group made up of strangers would totally change the dynamics of our runs.

Sure, I agree. I just haven't got my head around the full numbeers of the guild now and I thought that perhaps if we added it all up, we could do 25's and still only have to fill 2-3 extra slots when we come up short.

We have an open alliance with http://www.wozguild.com/; they have more people than they can run through raids and their members are better than the random chaff you get.
PST if you want the in-game alliance channel.

I am not interesting in raiding with strangers or doing 25-mans.

Alrighty. I rescind my suggestion!

'Raiding with Strangers' - great name for a band.

Do we have enough to form two separate guild-only 10man teams?

Penny Wyatt (Jirra/Atlassia)
I tried to set that up a few weeks ago here - http://wiki.angry.com.au/display/WOW/2010/05/19/WTB+Raiding+Team
We never could get buy-in from Mythelight and so it never happened (and then, of course, he left because he never raided with us *sigh* ) With Torti we can probably make the numbers.

I thought that was an awesome proposal. If we could get numbers back then, we should definitely have numbers now with Dee and Torti.
I'm not really fussed if we have two 10-man teams or if we rotate more often on Mondays. It would be sad to not raid as kitty anymore, but it's not that big a deal. I'm with Jirra in that I'd prefer to raid with a guild-only or mostly guild group though. It's just more fun.
We kind of have a working arrangement at the moment, since the Thursday team is working on Ruby Sanctum and the Monday team is working on ICC. We'll just run into problems once the Thursday team runs out of things to do.

Well from a purely selfish point of view I would like the Monday raids opened up to more people so I could come along. Even if both Thursday and Monday teams were in ICC I have 2 toons (Druid heals and Warrior Tank or at a push melee dps) in guild that are geared for ICC and 2 more unguilded (Hunter and Resto/Enhance Shammy) that could come along if needed.
I didn't pug out either guilded toon at the weekend as didn't know the Monday team and at that stage didn't really realise it was fixed to 12 people so wouldn't be coming along anyway.

Sorry about that, looks like there was a bit of a communication breakdown there. I'm happy to sit out today on my shadow priest if you want to bring someone along tonight.

Well to be fair it was mentioned I would probably not get a run. The bit I didn't quite get was the fact the Monday team is a fixed team of 12 players. I thought it was open to everyone with a priority to those that can only raid Monday night and/or didn't raid the previous Thursday.
As for going tonight can't replace a ranged dps with a guilded toon so whilst I could bring the hunter they are currently 4th toon I would want to take to ICC. If I assume druid is used for Thursday team might like to try and get warrior added to Monday team even as reserve and no other tank available.
