  • Not sure if Trunkun is back next week. Assuming that he is not.
  • Please remember to deposit 50g in the guild bank during the week. Thatrayna spends a lot of his own gold supplying us with these and they are very very useful (I doubt we would have downed patchwerk without these buffs). If you can't afford it, then please donate whatever you can afford. A fish feast costs over 250g to make a stack and flasks are not cheap either (30g?).
  • Install DeadlyBossMods. It's a great little WoW addon that will help inform you when something bad is about to happen to you.

      Sorry John, wasn't sure if you were back or not. You'll probably need some time to gear up kitty (which we're happy to help with) when you hit 80, so let's give deadheart a go at offtanking next week.

    Deadheart just might not be sufficiently geared to off-tank Ulduar.

    We might still be able to do Ulduar if we get no-shows in the DPS department and can pug a decent tank, but we might want to have a backup plan?

      Good point. Okay, here's the proposed plan A and plan B. Let me know what you guys think.

      Plan A — Everybody shows up

      • We try Eye of Eternity again — EoE doesn't need an offtank as Furgs kindly pointed out in IRC (get on IRC, it's where the cool kids are)
      • Or, we head back to Naxx for a practice (alt) run, e.g. deadheart/lolz tanking, carl heals, furgs dpsing, etc

      We could perhaps try OS (no drakes) but VOA is probably too tough unless the offtank is geared.

      Plan B — Someone doesn't show up

      • We pug an off-tank (and whatever else we need) and run Ulduar

        We need to rebalance the group so we can run 10M raids with our guild. That's the whole point of having a guild. We need a permanent solution instead of these one off solutions.

        I think there are two options for long term success:

        • Rebalance: Lolz and Deadheart (or his alt) start gearing up seriously as tanks
        • Recruit: we recruit one other tank

        Really, I think we need access to three tanks and three healers (at the same time) so we can adjust depending on which instance we do.

        That means Lolz needs to stay healer, Furgin + deadheart + kitty.

          We do have a good group balance I think. It's just that we haven't had a chance to gear up properly. Here's how it should look once we have adequate gear for everyone:

          Tanks: Furgin (main tank), Kitty (off-tank), deadheart/lolz (substitute tanks: deadheart preferred over lolz)
          Healers: Thatrayna (main heals), lolz (off-heals), carl (substitute heals)

          Given the amount of time it took to get Kitty to level to 80, will we concievably be able to gear her up to tank 10-mans in a reasonable amount of time? Or was it just a catch-22 where because Kitty wasn't 80 yet, John kept having to play Anasta instead?

            My preference is for people to be able to choose who they want to play as their mains, as long as we can reasonably accommodate it. I had thought that John preferred Kitty tank over Anasta dps (feel free to correct me here John). In this case, the preference fits the class balance.

            It's a tough one, because we may be limited in our progress while Kitty (and lolz/deadheart) gets geared, but you're right — if we don't gear up Kitty now, he'll always be behind the gear curve. I'm personally not too concerned about progression, this group has always been more about hanging out with friends in WoW to me. I have just as much fun raiding old-school raids with you guys, as I do clearing Ony.

            My opinion is that we should give our tanks a chance to start getting geared and see how it goes. What do you guys reckon?

            I would actually prefer playing Kittyfoot. She is currently 79.25 with full Rested XP. I pulled Anasta out of retirement because Kitty fell behind when I took a couple of weeks off and you folks started doing 80 instances. However, I'm frustrated with the poor DPS compared to Carl, so I'd prefer a tanking role.

            The hard thing will be getting Kitty sufficiently geared for some of the raids we're now doing.

              Well one good bit of timing is that the 3.3 patch should land in the next couple of weeks, so all the badge rewards for daily dungeons are going to be bumped up a tier.

              I'm sure we can all chip in to get Kitty to 80 and then run ToC/heroics/etc. as necessary to get her geared up.

              (Having another pally in the group would rock. No more having to choose between blessings/judgements. Woohoo.)

              When do you get back?

              One thing we could do is get a bunch of people together over the weekend to run (for example) Culling of Stratholme until Kitty hits 80, and then farm N ToC for level 200 purples until we got bored.
